I am an experienced primary, early childhood and special education teacher. I am passionate about empowering children to develop confidence and success with spelling, reading and writing. As a literacy specialist, I use the Sounds-Write program with my students. Sounds-Write is an evidence-based, structured, synthetic, linguistic phonics program that utilises a highly successful approach to the teaching of reading and spelling. We also play lots of fun engaging games to support learning! My aim is to support children to develop life-long literacy skills, to foster a love of reading and a belief in their own abilities.

At Sound Literacy Connections we provide tailored 1:1 literacy support for students from Prep to Year 10. Jenny has current QLD Teacher Registration, and extensive training in providing specialized intervention for students who struggle with reading and spelling, including those with ASD, ADHD/ADD, DLD, dyslexia and other language- based learning differences. We believe in providing a safe and engaging learning environment to inspire curiosity and a love of language.

Have you considered an online specialist? Students can access the expertise of a Specialist Teacher in a private, one-to-one lesson with no required travel, comfort of own home and less distractions. Teachers who deliver lessons in this way typically specialise in this model of instruction and do so in multisensory and dynamic ways that achieve comparable results in literacy and mathematics. Many students with ADHD and attention challenges find online learning easier and more successful. Have a chat with the online teachers and see if it will work for you.

The Teaching Team is a specialist team of registered teachers providing one-on-one support. We believe building strong foundations can give your child the confidence to succeed at school. That’s why we use evidence-based programs, delivered in a calm, supportive environment at our learning space in Paddington, Brisbane. Our Teachers work with Sounds-Write, UFLI, Read 3 and Brighter Maths (Maths Australia) to develop a personalised intervention plan for each student.
