I have extensive experience in successfully teaching students with Autism, ADHD, anxiety and dyslexia and personal experience too, as my daughter and husband live with these conditions. I design lessons specifically for each student and work hard to make the lessons engaging and to include students’ interests. I am also an award-winning writer and understand the opportunity and enjoyment that reading and writing fluently and expressively allows. I love supporting students to achieve fluency, confidence and enjoyment in their literacy skills and am committed to providing affordable, reliable and effective learning.

Welcome to Write of Passage, an evidence-based tutoring service designed to support children experiencing literacy difficulties. As a literacy specialist, I am able to identify the foundational causes of literacy challenges to deliver targeted, evidence-based instruction that supports students’ individual learning goals. Write of Passage utilises Sounds-Write and Word Origins for their evidence-based design and proven success in supporting children experiencing dyslexia and other learning difficulties. Instruction is carefully tailored to each individual to provide the most appropriate and effective intervention.



Prep to Yr 7 | Literacy
As a specialist tutor I can help with…… Explicit, evidence-based, instruction following a systematic program designed to rebuild the foundation of reading, writing, and spelling skills. This one-to-one support improves both a student's academic skills and their emotional confidence. Tutoring to establish a solid foundation in literacy, building confidence through personalised learning tailored to student needs. I can support by addressing learning gaps in spelling, reading and writing early on, reducing anxiety, and improving student success.


Yr 2-7 | ADHD | ASD | Anxiety | APD
I am a specialist literacy teacher supporting children with learning difficulties in reading, spelling and writing. I use evidence-based, structured literacy approaches, including Sounds-Write, alongside Talk for Writing to develop writing skills and structure. Teaching is individualised, with sessions tailored to your child’s learning profile. My aim is to build core skills, confidence and independence, while providing a supportive environment where children can experience success and develop a positive relationship with learning.

I am an experienced teacher and curriculum leader with a passion for early literacy. I offer personalised 1:1 literacy tuition in your home to support young learners. My teaching uses evidence-based structured literacy approaches to build strong reading and spelling foundations. In addition to her Master of OT, she holds a Bachelor of International Studies (majoring in language) and a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). She is passionate about working with dyslexia and dysgraphia. She has expertise in handwriting development, literacy instruction, and cognitive-linguistic interventions.

She specialises in evidence-based literacy intervention (reading, writing and spelling) and/or targeted mathematics support. Her sessions focus on strengthening foundational skills through explicit, structured instruction tailored to each learner, helping students close learning gaps, build confidence, and make measurable academic progress.

1:1 Support | Online Specialist
Hummingbird Learning provide literacy support tailored to each student’s individual needs. I bring over 25 years of experience across classroom teaching, learning support, and targeted literacy intervention, including supporting children with dyslexia and learning difficulties. I am also currently undertaking postgraduate study in speech pathology, strengthening my understanding of the connection between speech, language, and literacy. Sessions are calm, supportive, and practical, with a focus on building confidence and helping children develop skills in reading, spelling, and written language.
